UPDATED FOR THE NEW 2018 STREAMLINED STANDARDS!
This 15 page review packet covers all of the Readiness Standards and Supporting Standards for Reporting Category 3: Earth and Space. Each section is titled with the TEKS that are addressed along with various activities/questions to make sure your students are reviewed and ready for the STAAR test in May. The optional cover page also provides an area for students to identify their strong TEKS and weak TEKS. It's important for students to understand the test and know what they need to work on prior to testing.
A modified version of the review packet is included. Word banks are provided when possible and an answer choice has been eliminated on multiple choice questions. The students who receive the modified version will still get all of the same answers as the regular version, so no additional answer key is needed.
A variety of methods for students to answer and prove their understanding of the material are included: labeling diagrams, fill-in-the-blank sentences, open ended and short answer questions, multiple choice, deciphering illustrations and diagrams (seasons, night/day, moon phases, etc), check boxes, reading an H-R Diagram, matching crustal features to plate boundary interactions, reading a topographic map and adding information to it, sequencing satellite views of a delta being formed over many years, adding symbols to weather maps, reading graphic organizers, defining key terms, determining the best method for modeling day/night and seasons using basic everyday items, and much more!
A complete teacher answer key is provided which will free up your time to be able to assist students and facilitate small group instruction or interventions, if necessary. Some ideas for how to best use this in your class are included.
