Description
*Includes self-grading Google Forms version!* This final exam for 7th grade reading literature is completely editable (in PPT) so you can customize it for your students or simply print and go. The final exam includes 80 questions as well as two reading passages. Please see the preview file for the number of each question type as well as actual sample questions.
This final exam was designed to serve two purposes – to assess the various terms, concepts, and skills your students have learned this year (See Parts 1 and 2) as well as assess their ability to answer Common Core Assessment-Style questions (See Parts 3 and 4).
This assessment also aligns directly with my Short Story of the Month Club, Grade 7 Short Story Unit Collection, but you can absolutely use it even if you haven’t used these short story units. You’ll notice that the terms come from mini-lessons included with various stories and the style of questions is the same that they’ve seen monthly on the unit comprehension skills tests.
Because RL.7.9 requires students to compare and contrast a fictional portrayal and a historical account, I have included two excerpts and two movie scene video clips that must be played for students to answer questions 73-76.
Because RL.7.7 requires students to compare written text to audio or video, I’ve included a poem (song lyrics) and a 2.5 minute audio clip of the accompanying music that must be played for students to answer questions 79 and 80.
If you do not wish to show video clips or play audio clips for your students during a final exam, simply omit the last five pages and only give students the portion of the exam up to question 72.
I have included two versions of this exam to help you differentiate for students with testing modifications.
1: Regular Version
2: Modified Version, no more than 5 options for literary term definitions, and no more than 2 options for multiple choice questions
