What educators are saying

My goodness this is an amazing resource!! This did a phenominal job of not only reviewing sixth grade content but spiraling throughout the year.

Description

This set of 7th grade math spiral review is great to use as warm ups to start your math class all year, use as homework, or both!

  • Help your 7th grade math students increase retention by reviewing concepts all year and overcome the fear of unfamiliar math problems. Students learn new concepts little by little, so when they get to the ‘actual’ unit, they already understand the concepts.
  • Students can keep the entire set (90 pages) in their binders so they can reference the tip boxes and sample problems throughout the year.

Features of this easy-prep, time-saving resource:

  • Each day has 2 or 3 problems of varying difficulty; over 500 questions total
  • Word problems are used frequently
  • Student pages are set up in number-order from 1-180 (2 days per page), rather than Monday – Friday (I often got off-track when pages were labeled Mon – Fri, because if there’s no school, or math class was missed for some reason, then we weren’t always on the “right” weekday.)
  • There are “tip” and “reminder” boxes, to help students who may not remember what they’ve learned, or to give a little background information for new topics.

This resource Includes:

1) Student Version (PDF)

2) Teacher Version/Answer Key (PDF): includes the problems as well as methods to find the answers to most problems.

  • Some problems have more than one method included, but you might use ways other than those I’ve included in the key.

3) Standards Index:

  • Is in the Teacher Version/Key document
  • Includes a chart of the 7th grade Common Core Standards addressed in this resource
  • Includes a list of the days each standard is covered
  • Includes a list of additional concepts covered in the resource

4) PowerPoint for display, with one day per slide (not editable)

Suggestions for How to Use:
1) Have students keep the daily math pages in a binder so they always have them available (my favorite).

2) Cut each page into the separate days for students to work on as their bell ringer or warm up.
3) Display the pages for students to see as they enter the class, using the 'PPT for display' document. Students can complete the problems in their math notebooks.
4) Use the pages as math homework and have students discuss as the warm up (also a favorite – this leads to great math discussions and students can get started with this as soon as they enter the class.)
5) Have a weekly/monthly/quarterly math quiz, allowing students to use their daily math pages as a resource – I love doing this because it helps students to make sure they don’t lose their pages!

What teachers are saying about the 6th grade version of this resource:

⭐⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"AMAZING resource! I loved how it can be set up as a bellringer and/or station. By the end of the year it became a station for me and a self-checking station too! Loved this resource and the different ways we have been able to use it in class. Quality work!"

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "This is an excellent resource for quick, spiraling review during each class. I love the tip boxes that students can refer to if they're stuck."

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"I have been using this resource for several years, and it is such a wonderful time saver! I love that they are easily getting some spiraled review. Thank you!"

Solve problems involving scale drawings of geometric figures, including computing actual lengths and areas from a scale drawing and reproducing a scale drawing at a different scale.
Draw (freehand, with ruler and protractor, and with technology) geometric shapes with given conditions. Focus on constructing triangles from three measures of angles or sides, noticing when the conditions determine a unique triangle, more than one triangle, or no triangle.
Describe the two-dimensional figures that result from slicing three-dimensional figures, as in plane sections of right rectangular prisms and right rectangular pyramids.
Know the formulas for the area and circumference of a circle and use them to solve problems; give an informal derivation of the relationship between the circumference and area of a circle.
Use facts about supplementary, complementary, vertical, and adjacent angles in a multi-step problem to write and solve simple equations for an unknown angle in a figure.
