Description
This file includes a detailed 4-point rubric that assesses three Core Standards:
W.6.3. (Write real or imagined narratives)
W.6.4. (Produce writing appropriate to task, purpose, audience)
W.6.5. (Develop and strengthen writing)
It also includes a goal setting component, for teachers to set with students before writing instruction. There is a space for teacher comments, for you to do while you assess or score the piece, as well as two prompts for students to fill out and reflect on their performance. You also receive a correlated class reporting sheet.
This rubric can be used for writing short stories or memoirs. Check out my other rubrics for Common Core Writing Standards for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade levels.
