What educators are saying

Great resource! I love using it towards the middle and end of the year so students can spiral review topics to get ready for science state testing.
Well thought out and planned review questions to keep coming back to so that concepts aren't forgotten!

Description

5th Grade Science Spiral Review includes 30 weeks of review. Start during back to school and use all year! Each Spiral Review is aligned to the Texas streamlined science TEKS and has four questions.

There are 12 topics that each get visited 10 times over the 30 weeks. Along with vocabulary review, this helps keep content fresh.

The early weeks are focused on reviewing skills and content. Because students’ background knowledge varies, I included information, defined vocabulary, and examples. Students use that information to help them answer a question.

As the weeks go on, less background information is provided and the rigor of the questions increases to meet what is expected on STAAR.

12 Topics

Eleven of the twelve topics are the Readiness Standards as determined by TEA. These are the standards that make up about 66% of STAAR. The twelfth topic addresses science tools in the early weeks and force and motion investigations in the later weeks.

1. Properties of Matter (5.5A)

2. Forms of Energy (5.6A)

3. Traits and Behaviors (5.10B)

4. Landforms (5.7B)

5. Sedimentary Rock and Fossil Fuels (5.7A)

6. Structures and Functions (5.10A)

7. Light (5.6C)

8. Food Webs (5.9B)

9. Ecosystem Interactions (5.9A)

10. Day and Night (5.8C)

11. Circuits (5.6B)

Teachers love it!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "This resource is very helpful in reviewing many important science concepts and familiarizing the students with assessment strategies. I love the variety of questions—the wording, illustrations, graphics, and distractions were highly effective in both assessment and review." -Geraldine K.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "These were just the bell ringers I was looking for! They are written with similar rigor to the STAAR, and I loved how they got progressively more challenging as the year went on. Thank for producing, yet again, another AMAZING resource!" -Kristen B.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "THIS! I wish I had purchased this earlier in the school year. The questioning, the format, the background knowledge it activates with some questions: It is awesome! It does not matter what is your scope & sequence you follow." -Maria B.
