5th Grade Social Studies Video Links - YEARLONG Resource!
- PDF
- Internet Activities
Description
This is a PDF document of a list of video links for teachers to use for the WHOLE YEAR while teaching Social Studies! Every video you could ever need to cover the standards thoroughly with your students is here.
It was designed to fit the Fifth Grade Georgia Standards of Excellence for S.S. but could be used in any district. U.S. History from 1900-present is covered, and so are major economic and government/civic concepts. Check out the full list of standards here: Social-Studies-5th-Grade-Georgia-Standards.pdf (gadoe.org).
This resource includes almost 400 (yes, four HUNDRED) videos that you can use to show your students. It will completely eliminate the need for your to search for hours for each unit.
The videos are organized in chronological order, then by standard, which are also written directly on the document for you to easily navigate.
The vast majority of the videos included are from free resources (mostly YouTube). However there are a few from sites like BrainPop, Flocabulary, or Discovery Education that may require a paid subscription with login info. Sommetimes your district may already have these memberships, and other times you may be able to find a login by Googling. However, for every single subject/person/standard there will ALWAYS be AT LEAST one free video resource. Most have 3-5 or even more.
I have also included some "bonus" content in some of the sections -- links to interactive websites, games, and even reviews that I created.
Perfect for new teachers, teachers looking to incorporate more visual elements to their lessons, or even for you to post to your class website/send to parents. These would be a great way to review for end of year testing as well.

*All links are functioning as of 2/12/2023. I cannot guarantee that they will all continue to work indefinitely, but the majority should. If you are having issues with 10% (40) or more of the links not working, please feel free to reach out so that I can correct the issue. I tried to pull from a variety of sources to ensure that there would always be something to use.
