Excellent 5th Grade Reading Test-Prep with a thorough study of the questions stems. While using this product, the students will analyze reading stems commonly found on most 5th Grade state reading standardized tests to have a better understanding of exactly what the question is asking for. Research has shown that by developing a better understanding of the questions and exactly what they're asking, students will be more successful on test day!

Whereas this resource is aligned to the 5th Grade CCSS reading standards, it is suitable to any 5th Grade curricula.

With this resource I have provided examples of short passages, stories, excerpts, non-fiction articles, plays and poetry with follow-up reading question stems that commonly provide the most challenges to our 5th grade students on their standardized reading exam.

After each reading stem I have provided a brief explanation of what information the reading stem question is really asking the reader to find and I have provided an opportunity for the students to write a response to each of the reading stem questions.

Research has shown that one of the most difficult challenges that students face on the state reading exams is the ability to understand the reading stem question and what information it is really asking for.

I have been researching reading question stems for years on standardized tests and as the standards have become much more rigorous; the reading question stems have become much more rigorous as well.

I’m hoping by familiarizing your students with these common; but challenging reading question stems; your students will not only perform better on their reading test; but they will feel less stress during the exam.
