What educators are saying

This has been tremendously helpful for me since this is my first year teaching at the elementary level. It has saved my sanity and has given me the extra support, building rigor within my classroom. The detailed plans for each unit and Texas TEKS is my go to when planning!!
This is a great resource for helping plan step by step lessons and how to keep the students actively involved. Looking forward to using more of these lessons this year.

    Description

Get everything you need to teach fifth grade math with this complete guided math unit that spans the entire school year! EVERY TEK is taught in-depth using the concrete, pictorial, and abstract flow. This unit uses the backwards design model and starts with the STAAR Test as the assessment! TEKS are broken down into small manageable chunks (learning targets) and then introduced with concrete models before abstract. Each unit contains plenty of practice, word problems, and activities to get your students up and moving. Opportunities for sharing strategies and cooperative learning are included! Exit Tickets are also included to help you formatively assess student learning. Intervention and enrichment suggestions are given for each and every TEKS, making small group instruction manageable!

This bundle includes 110 days of complete instruction, so the year will be planned for you in a way that is detailed and easy to use! These plans will get your students to the weeks before STAAR, so you know everything will be taught, and more importantly, LEARNED!

    THIS RESOURCE INCLUDES:

    • Daily objectives, learning targets, and materials.
    • Whole class teaching activities with guided math activities.
    • Closure with an exit ticket and answer key for most days.
    • Learning targets that can be used to assign intervention and enrichment skills.
    • Whole Class Teaching: Mini Lessons (Connection, Teaching Point, Active Engagement, Link to Ongoing Learning), Math Huddle (Say Mean Matter, 3 Read, KNWS)
    • Games and Engagement Activities: SCOOT, Mystery Challenges, Mirror, Ghost in the Graveyard, The Very Unfair Game, Scavenger Hunt, Minute to Win It!, Roll for Luck, Online Breakouts

Convert among different-sized standard measurement units within a given measurement system (e.g., convert 5 cm to 0.05 m), and use these conversions in solving multi-step, real world problems.
Make a line plot to display a data set of measurements in fractions of a unit (1/2, 1/4, 1/8). Use operations on fractions for this grade to solve problems involving information presented in line plots. For example, given different measurements of liquid in identical beakers, find the amount of liquid each beaker would contain if the total amount in all the beakers were redistributed equally.
Recognize volume as an attribute of solid figures and understand concepts of volume measurement.
A cube with side length 1 unit, called a “unit cube,” is said to have “one cubic unit” of volume, and can be used to measure volume.
A solid figure which can be packed without gaps or overlaps using 𝘯 unit cubes is said to have a volume of 𝘯 cubic units.
