What educators are saying

This is a great resource. I have used it with my tutoring group after school and it has helped me cover so many priority standards. I highly recommend.
This helped me give students standards-based homework with a nice amount of rigor. I would have appreciated not having "mixed standards" worksheets for better ease of homework, but this resource was designed as an assessment.

Description

These fifth grade math assessments are great pre- and post-assessments to truly assess your students on the rigor of the Common Core Math Standards. They are organized, easy to implement, and have teaching notes that break the standards down into easy-to-understand language.

**A digital version is also included for use with Google Classroom.**

With the digital version, you have the option to go 100% paperless.

The Teaching Notes:

·Every individual standard comes with teaching notes that break the standard down into three levels of learning/understanding.

·The three levels of learning/understanding include: what students should know/be able to do at the conceptual level, procedural level, and representational level.

These teaching notes not only make teaching the standards much easier, but they also help teachers understand where their students need to be in order to show mastery of the standard by test time.

The Assessments:

·There are 10 higher level assessment questions for EVERY SINGLE standard under Number & Operations in Base Ten, Number & Operation- Fractions, Operations and Algebraic Thinking, Measurement and Data, and Geometry.

·Most assessment questions are written response and higher-order thinking questions that require students to justify their answers and write to explain their thinking.

·Answer keys come with student example responses to help teachers check students’ work.

The Assessment Cover Pages:

·Included are pages of blank "I can" statements for student documentation (to be used with my Student Data Tracking Binder).

·The cover pages also include a table to document assessment dates and scores.

Standards

to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
Convert among different-sized standard measurement units within a given measurement system (e.g., convert 5 cm to 0.05 m), and use these conversions in solving multi-step, real world problems.
Make a line plot to display a data set of measurements in fractions of a unit (1/2, 1/4, 1/8). Use operations on fractions for this grade to solve problems involving information presented in line plots. For example, given different measurements of liquid in identical beakers, find the amount of liquid each beaker would contain if the total amount in all the beakers were redistributed equally.
Recognize volume as an attribute of solid figures and understand concepts of volume measurement.
A cube with side length 1 unit, called a “unit cube,” is said to have “one cubic unit” of volume, and can be used to measure volume.
A solid figure which can be packed without gaps or overlaps using 𝘯 unit cubes is said to have a volume of 𝘯 cubic units.
