5th Grade Focus Wall Bundle

A focus wall has become a staple of my classroom setup and standards based bulletin board, and I’m excited to offer this bundle of all my focus wall materials. As a teacher, I want to have lots of different options for my focus wall, so I was sure to include multiple options of each portion of the focus wall. You can arrange your focus wall to include the standards, essential questions, and vocabulary for each unit you are currently teaching. You can also organize your focus wall by subject and leave space for an anchor chart. The options are endless!

HEADINGS

-There are 6 themes of decorative lettering headings that are available on a half page and a whole page.

-There are 10 different colors of editable bracket frames.

-There are editable individual letters that you can cut out for a heading.

STANDARD POSTERS or I CAN STATMENTS

I originally created these Common Core Standards posters with the initial roll out of the new Common Core Standards. As I’ve moved classrooms and schools, I’ve seen a need for additional versions of the posters to accommodate for different classroom layouts, so there is now a full page version and a half page version. This file also includes Georgia Standards of Excellence for social studies and science, as well as the Next Generation Science Standards. I have included an editable template that you can use to add your own specific standards.

ESSENTIAL QUESTIONS

These Essential Questions posters can be used to target higher-level thinking skills and improve student engagement. There are no obvious right or wrong answers to these essential questions, and they are framed to provoke students’ interest in the concept studied. Essential questions require students to think broadly and provide more than a simple restatement of facts. I have written at least one question for each of the Common Core Standards, and I’ve included more than one question for many of the standards. I was able sure to add a variety of questions so they will work for any state standard! I did include the Georgia Standards of Excellence Social Studies and Science Standards. I have included a full page version and a half page version.

VOCABULARY or WORD WALL

There are four versions of vocabulary cards for your focus wall or word wall. There are two chalkboard background versions and two white background versions. Cards include the vocabulary word, definition, and an example or illustration of the word. Vocabulary cards include definitions for math, reading. social studies, and science. The social studies and science cards include a HUGE number of terms to accommodate any state standard
