Description

This creative 5 Themes of Geography Activity is perfect for helping your students review and apply their knowledge about the five themes to seven specific mystery sites from around the globe! Students will love getting the chance to play "detective" to figure out key details about the mystery sites, practicing their critical thinking and research skills in the process!

In this activity, students will first assemble a three-page chart where they will keep track of all of their answers. Then, they will read over some clues to determine the correct location of the seven different mystery sites. There is one site located on each continent. Once they have figured out the seven locations, they will continue sorting through a total of 28 additional clues, four for each of the seven sites that pertain to place, region, human-environment interaction, and movement.

This is a printable activity only, and it will require internet research and scissors, tape, and glue. For your convenience, an editable version of the activity, a teacher guide, and an answer key are all included! This activity may be challenging for some students, so you could have students work on their own, with a partner, with a small group, or even as a whole class. This activity will likely take 60-80 minutes if students work on their own, and less time if they are working with groups.
