What educators are saying

It is so hard to keep student's attention towards the end of the year. My students love escape rooms and I LOVE the digital ones that only let them continue when they have the correct answer. This also gave students some neat 80s triva!
I love using these digital escape activities with my students. They were engaged and actively involved. My students can't wait to play this again.

Description

This 4th grade math review is an escape room activity that your students will find fun and engaging. Like the Escape Room attractions found around the world, students will be “locked in” during this game, and the object is to find the codes to “escape” within a given time period.

⭐⭐ A bonus version that is 100 percent digital is now included! You can assign the escape room virtually to your students with no extra printing or preparation required! If you are short on time, you could use the virtual version in person in your classroom because it requires minimal preparation.⭐⭐

In order to be successful, teams will need to use good communication, logic, attention to detail and cooperation.

The Escape Room focuses on the fourth grade Common Core Standards. This game is great for an opening activity for your fifth-grade math class because it will review skills learned in 4th grade. It can also be used as a review activity at the end of 4th grade.

If you work with a small group on math skills during intervention time, this game would be a fun game to play together and would allow you to review needed skills in a fun and motivating way.

The following skills are reviewed during the game:
Subtraction with up to 6-digit numbers with regrouping
Addition with up to 6-digit numbers with regrouping
Multiplying (2-digit by 2-digit and 4-digit by 1-digit)
Number Forms
Equivalent Fractions
Metric and Customary measurement conversions
Division with 4-digit dividends and 1-digit divisors

This Escape Room activity requires the use of technology because students will need to be able to access Google Forms. The use of the Google Form reduces the amount of preparation and printing for the teacher. It also will only progress to the next room if the correct code is entered.

This product includes two versions of the game . One version adds the element of a scavenger hunt. Both versions are an interactive experience that requires students to solve math problems and puzzles that will lead them to breakout codes.

Students will be divided into teams where the object is for their team to break out of all four rooms before time is up. I recommend 45 minutes, but you can vary the time based on the needs of your class. A digital game board is also included where teams can be assigned a team game piece that they move through the rooms as they escape each room.

I have also included a video preview so you can better understand the product.
