    WHAT'S INCLUDED:

Math Video: A teacher-led video that guides students to use a math concept and to apply that concept with real-world story problems. (The link for the video is at the top of the accompanying student worksheet.)

Worksheet: An accompanying worksheet that will enhance student interaction with the video by allowing them to record works and answers. The worksheet comes in black and white and color.

Parent Letter: A guide for parents about what the math videos are, their importance, and different ways to access the video.

Answer Key: A key for correcting the worksheet.

    VIDEO & WORKSHEET COMPONENTS:

Video Title & Objective: States the topic and learning objective of the video.

Vocabulary & Concepts: Explains pertinent vocabulary and concepts related to the video’s topic.

Let Me Show You: Demonstrates how to apply the steps to a set of problems.

Let's Do It Together: Guides students through applying the steps to a set of problems.

Math in the World: Guides students through applying the steps to a real-world story problem.

Independent Practice: Challenges the students to apply the concepts independently on the worksheet.

    MINI-BUNDLE BONUS:

4 Review Sheets: Four review sheets that cover measurement have been included in this bundle. Each review sheet contains one problem from every video in this resource.

Vocabulary Glossary: A glossary page has been included in this bundle. It contains all of the vocabulary words and definitions used in every video included in this bundle.

Measurement Conversion Guide: A reference sheet containing the conversion charts for each measurement worksheet.

HOW THE MATH VIDEOS & WORKSHEETS HELP:

Parents: The most common problem for parents is that they want to help their child with math homework, but they do not understand all of the strategies taught in today’s classrooms. These videos allow parents and students to sit down together and learn different strategies to solve math problems.

Students: Too often students need more time to process math concepts than what can be offered in the classroom. By being able to watch these videos at their own pace and on their own time, students can rewatch problems being solved and pause the videos for the amount of work time that they need.

Teachers: There always seems to be a shortage of time in a classroom. Teachers can use these videos in many ways to help make the most of the time they do have. Some of these ways include as part of a flipped classroom model, for additional practice and review during small groups, centers, or for independent practice time, and for advance the pacing of gifted and talented or high-achieving students.

Know relative sizes of measurement units within one system of units including km, m, cm; kg, g; lb, oz.; l, ml; hr, min, sec. Within a single system of measurement, express measurements in a larger unit in terms of a smaller unit. Record measurement equivalents in a two-column table. For example, know that 1 ft is 12 times as long as 1 in. Express the length of a 4 ft snake as 48 in. Generate a conversion table for feet and inches listing the number pairs (1, 12), (2, 24), (3, 36),...
Use the four operations to solve word problems involving distances, intervals of time, liquid volumes, masses of objects, and money, including problems involving simple fractions or decimals, and problems that require expressing measurements given in a larger unit in terms of a smaller unit. Represent measurement quantities using diagrams such as number line diagrams that feature a measurement scale.
Apply the area and perimeter formulas for rectangles in real world and mathematical problems. For example, find the width of a rectangular room given the area of the flooring and the length, by viewing the area formula as a multiplication equation with an unknown factor.
Make a line plot to display a data set of measurements in fractions of a unit (1/2, 1/4, 1/8). Solve problems involving addition and subtraction of fractions by using information presented in line plots. For example, from a line plot find and interpret the difference in length between the longest and shortest specimens in an insect collection.
