The Scenario: You've been captured by a crew of swashbuckling pirates! They want to take you and your treasures hostage and sail off to sea! You must escape the ship before the pirates depart with you on board. Students must solve 4 clues in order to escape.

This digital escape room is hosted on Google Sites (TM). Students do NOT need to have any accounts and do not need to log into anything. You just need internet access and laptops or tablets This escape room can be done individually, in pairs or small groups, or you can do it with a whole class by presenting it on the whiteboard and having students work on scratch paper or whiteboards.

Fluently add and subtract within 1000 using strategies and algorithms based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction.
Solve two-step word problems using the four operations. Represent these problems using equations with a letter standing for the unknown quantity. Assess the reasonableness of answers using mental computation and estimation strategies including rounding.
