3D Shapes/Figures in Kindergarten

Learning 3-dimensional figures will be so much fun in your class with these fun and interactive hands-on games and activities! Your students will enjoy exploring 3-D figures through play (all you need to add are 3-D solids - which can be purchased or simply use recycled materials!).

Here's what's included:

- 2-weeks worth of detailed lesson plans (whole group, small group and provocations)

- various 3-D figures posters

- poster outlining name, faces, edges, vertices, example of each 3-D figure (blank and filled in)

- 3-D figures poem -> color & b&W, along with a teacher big book and student booklet (fill in blank to make their own)

- 3-D figures hunt around the room

- "What's in My Bag?" game -> students reach in bag and guess or describe figure they are holding (3 different recording sheets)

- "Roll and Cover" -> roll 3-D figure die and cover matching object (2 recording sheets)

- "Build a Structure" -> create a structure using 3-D figures and document learning onto recording sheet (5 different recording sheets)

- "Sort it Out" -> parent letter asking to send in 3-D figures (recycled materials) and have students sort onto mats (1 recording sheet)

- "Roll, Slide or Both" -> students test 3-D figures on a ramp to see if they roll/slide/both (2 recording sheets)

- "Capture 6" game -> choose a 3-D figure and cover it on your board game card, first person to cover 6 in a row wins

- "Build a Sentence" -> use sight word cards to build a sentence about 3-D figures and real-life objects

- "Clip Cards" -> clip a clothespin onto the matching object

- "Challenge Cards" -> try to replicate the tower shown on the cards and sort cards

- "I Have...You Have" game -> play I Have...You Have based on 3-D figures

- Lift the Flap book -> teacher book to use to question students knowledge as well as student reproducible book to create own riddle book
