Description

Spark engaging conversations with Literature Circle Discussion Task Cards!

Are your students struggling to keep conversation going during book club meetings? Do they love their novels, but don't know how to engage in discussion? These task cards offer 35 creative, critical thinking questions to prompt engaging, in depth discussion around literature circle or choice reading novels. Each card has one prompting question that addresses the novel's character, theme, setting, mood, and plot. Simply cut out the cards, laminate, and give a set to each book club group. These can be assigned regularly (e.g. each group member must draw three cards and respond in group discussion) or used as back up when discussion lags.

These task cards were designed for use with Holocaust themed novels, but are suitable for any topic. For more Holocaust Literature Circles activities, check out my Holocaust Literature Unit Bundle!

Included:

  • 35 critical thinking questions suitable for any novel
  • Color and Black and White Versions
  • Blank task card template to add your own discussion question prompts
