3 Ways to Read a Book Lesson - Song or Chant - PreK, KG, Grade 1 - Daily Reading
- PDF
Description
Introduce or remind your students about the three ways to read a book with this short, fun, and easy to remember chant or song. Sung to the tune of Are You Sleeping, your students will quickly and effortlessly memorize that they can:
- Read the words
- Read the pictures
- Retell the story
You can use this song to introduce your reading program, during your daily reading as a brain break, or as a reminder before the students begin Read to Self or Read to Someone.
Younger students, beginning readers, children with special needs, ESL / ELL / EAL students, or those needing extra support in reading benefit greatly from knowing that there are 3 ways to read. It values what beginning readers do, and helps children to gain confidence in themselves as readers as they learn to read.
Sing the song in class often, and display in your reading area, classroom library, or school library. Includes a full-color and a black & white version.
