Description
This fun 3 Little Pigs song (rhyme, poem) for carpet time is one of my students’ favorites! It works great for a Three Little Pigs or Homes thematic unit. This is a great activity for teaching students to recognize 2D shapes. A black and white version is included so that students can create their own 3 Little Pigs song to sing about as a math center activity or a extension activity to take home! I also like to print an extra set of buttons and attach magnets to them for students to sing the song in their math center.
Set Up: Print and laminate the house cards and song words.
Play: Set out 5 shapes in the middle of the carpet. Sing the song to the tune of “Bingo Was His Name.”

Call on a student to pick up the correct shaped house. Continue changing the shape until all the houses are gone. You can keep students engaged by adding motions or by asking students to point to the card they think is correct. You can ask them how many cards are left after each round. You can use loud and soft voices or sing the song quickly or slowly.
