What educators are saying

I love having students work to analyze other work. It helps students to be able to think critically about their own work and find errors in their mathematics. Great discussion starters!
I love to use these as a warm up or closing. They are great at encouraging higher order thinking. We do them whole group to model the thinking and process. I use them with my higher students independently.

    Description

Are you looking for 2nd grade math activities to review all the standards? Whether you are teaching 3rd grade and want to review 2nd grade standards during back to school or teaching 2nd grade and want to use these all year, these rigorous, high-interest activities will have your students critically thinking about math each day in school!

Go beyond the worksheets with these higher-level thinking questions specifically designed for your second graders. Students must solve the problem and then decide if they agree or disagree with the solution presented to them.

Your students will love using the agree and disagree cards to critique the work of others and defend their mathematical thinking!

These mathematical problems reinforce students' reading, writing, and debating skills.

Included are agree/disagree cards and math discussion stems and questions to help students engage in meaningful discourse in whole group, small group, or partner settings focused on these problems.

Use as test prep, morning work, exit tickets, assessment, and learning activities.
