What educators are saying

My students always look forward to using these activities. It is engaging for them to work on independently or with a partner. The activity is just the right length of time for me to set up for a whole group lesson or transition to the next subject. I love using these resources in my classroom!
My students love these videos. I play the 7 minute videos as the kids come in in the morning. They are engaging and entertaining. I love the different themes and how they review the skills the kids are working on.

Description

Have you ever felt overwhelmed and just needed a minute to catch your breath? Have you ever wondered how you could keep your class busy while you worked one-on-one with a student or small group? I know I have and that's why I created 7 Minute Whiteboard Videos. They are ZERO prep! No copies! No early finishers! No grading! The best part is, kids LOVE them!

These videos offer a quick, no-prep review that your students are going to love! Each student needs a whiteboard, marker, and eraser. They are a wonderful resource for in-person AND distant learning.

This set includes a variety of skills and is a great review for your second graders. Videos currently included are-

Context Clues - Pirates used some interesting words! Can your students use context clues to figure out what they meant? Click here to see a preview of this video!

Equal Part Treasure Maps - The pirates are fighting over the treasure map so the captain wants to cut it into equal parts to stop the fighting. Unfortunately, he's not very good at weilding his sword. Your kids will watch the captain cut the map then decide if it is equal parts. Click here to see a preview of this video.

Splitting the Treasure - Two pirates want to share the treasure, but this doesn't work if there are an odd number of gold coins. We see the coins and the video tells us how many there are (11 to 20) and your students write if it will be an odd or even number. We then see the coins fall into the two treasure chests and hear skip counting by 2s. If it is an even number, the pirates get a big smile on their faces. If it is an odd number, they are not happy! Such a great way to help reinforce this concept and make it concrete. Click here to see it!

Blasting Vowel Teams - "Fire in the hole!" We see a ship get blasted with a cannon leaving a huge hole in the side right where a vowel team would have been! Luckily, we are left with a few clues to help us figure out the missing letters. We see a picture of the word on the sail and a cute little Jolly Roger flag tells us what the word should have been. Can your kids write the missing letters before the board shows us the right answer? Click here to see this video!

Shipwreck Compound Words - It's stormy seas ahead as we see a compound word on the side of a ship just before it gets struck by lightening and splits in half! Can your kids write the two words that made the compound before we go on a deep sea dive to find the pieces of the ship at the bottom of the ocean? Click here to see a preview of this video.

Sunken Number Patterns - A row of ships have 3-digit numbers on their sails but one has been hit by a cannon and sinks! Can your students figure out what number it was? This includes skip counting by 5s, 10s, and 100s. Click here to see it!

Missing Coin Treasure - There is one coin in the treasure chest. Can your students figure out what it is before the chest opens? Great practice counting coins plus working with missing addends! Click to see a preview!

Pirate Paths - "How far did the pirates travel?" Your kids can figure it out by adding four 2-digit numbers. There is no regrouping in this one! Click here to see it!
