What educators are saying

My students loved using this resource for their morning work! They were engaged in the resource and had no trouble getting started. It didn’t take much time to prepare this resource, so it was easy for me to use in a time crunch.
This is a great resource to review and practice NSF. I love how it's laid out like the benchmark students see on the computer. A great way to practice a challenging skill for some.

Description

AIMSweb Benchmarking and progress monitoring are hard and can be extremely anxiety-provoking for students. I made this packet for my own class because I was heartbroken seeing my students either become too stressed to try their best on these assessments or simply get overwhelmed and click through without trying. Their real progress was not being reflected in their scores.

Once I started giving my students two to three pages of daily practice to familiarize themselves with the format and strategies of the NSF assessments, I noticed something amazing. Not only did their scores go up, but their fluency and confidence in math went up as well!

Best of all, this resource makes differentiation easy! For students who need to work on specific skills, there is a version that breaks the number sense fluency assessment into it’s two subtests: number comparison fluency (NCF) and mental computation fluency (MCF), each with 20 pages of two-digit practice and 20 pages of three-digit practice.

If you want to work on both simultaneously, there is another packet with 80 pages that alternates between the NCF and MCF! There is also 1 editable blank page – print it out and laminate for repeated use!

Some suggestions for use:

  • Use for daily warm-ups, morning work, extra credit, or even homework!
  • Provide immediate feedback and reinforcement
  • Talk through answers and help students figure out which strategies work best for them
  • Check which categories your students struggled with on their benchmarks and target those areas for extra practice!
