    Description

Use popular French music to create a new daily bellringer routine! These 27+ French songs (and growing), differentiated for the level of your students, increase listening skills in your classroom at any time of the school year. The fill-in-the-blank French music is a daily, year long routine to sharpen the listening skills of all French students at all levels (traditional, Core, or French Immersion).

My bell-ringer every day, all year long for the first 5-7 minutes of class are these French songs. You choose the level of difficulty for your students because each song has different versions (fewer blanks or more blanks) as well as different word banks (alphabetized or listed by verse).

The first minutes of my class are set with this daily French bellringer: students engage at their appropriate and differentiated level and I take attendance and follow-up with absent students during this time.

    Each French song includes:

    • 2+ versions of the fill-in-the-blank -- one version is considered easier because it has fewer fill-in-the blanks
    • 4 French vocabulary lists: 2 alphabetical and 2 categorized section by section
    • Directions / teacher suggestions of how to use one popular French song daily over 3-14 days
    • 2 or 3 songs have only one version
    • 1 song has three versions

Pair the song to the grammar point (or not). French grammar included varies from song to song: présent, imparfait, passé composé, futur simple, futur proche, conditionnel, conditionnel passé, plus-que-parfait, subjonctif, M/F adjectives, and other grammar points.
