What educators are saying

This has wonderful ideas for Warm-ups and quiet independent work. I use it periodically throughout the school year.

Description

Class starters (often called Warm-Ups, Do-Nows or Quick Questions) are a great way to set the tone for the work to be done in a class. It is also a great opportunity to have students review vocabulary and grammar regularly so that the concepts stay active. These activities are also an effective tool for class management, particularly when students know that they are receiving a grade for the work.

This document includes 25 ideas for Do Now Activities that are applicable to any language at any level, and can be used with any grammar or vocabulary topic. Each idea and concept has an example in a language other than English so that teachers can see how to use these Do Now Ideas in their curriculum.

This document includes a page for students to record their answers. I give the sheet to students on Monday and they write all answers and the date (in the target language) in the appropriate box. There is a spot for the teacher to record the grade for each day on the side and the total at the end.
