What educators are saying

My students LOVE this morning activity. I have them keep their responses in a journal. It's a great way to get them to write every day in class while also making it enjoyable. It's also great for a little formative assessment concerning grammar and punctuation.
This has been a great resource for use in my community circles with my 6th grade students! Thank you!

What is Morning Meeting?

Morning meetings are a classroom management practice used to help address the social emotional needs of your students each day. Every morning I kick off our day with a morning meeting. We gather for 10-15 minutes to chat together and kick of our day. There are many different things you can do in a morning meeting including: a greeting, sharing, a question, and an activity. In my classroom we watch our school broadcast, discuss a fun question of the day, and play a fun game if we have time. I use our question time to teach students how to share with classmates, how to be a good listener, etc.

How to use these in your classroom:

Each morning I am scrambling to come up with a fun and unique question of the day. I thought by creating a monthly calendar aligned with fun “national” holidays that I could print and hang up behind my desk each month would take the guess work out of our daily questions. I will ask these during our morning meetings, but you could also use them during a brain break, during transitions, during lunch, etc.
