What educators are saying

This resource was a lifesaver! This is my first year teaching AP Language & Composition and my own syllabus fell short. The seller was super quick to get back to me and sent me over an editable version so I can use the format and plug in my own resources I plan to use. Thank you! A++++

Description

In light of The College Board's request for AP Language and Composition syllabi to be in a particular format and addressing very particular aspects of learning, I thought I'd share the work I did to create my own syllabus. This 17-page syllabus follows all the criteria The College Board requests including 9 units centered around "Power" and America, big ideas, enduring understandings, and course skills. The rhetorical situation, claims and evidence, reasoning and organization, and style are all addressed in the assigned readings, accompanying video clips, associated art works, and writing assignments. This syllabus is a LIST of resources (not the actual resources). However, it is a "master plan" of sorts that addresses all of The College Board's requirements for curriculum and essays.

I've taught AP Language and Composition for 16 years and have graded the national exam for the past 2 years. I spent so many days working on this syllabus (trying to meet all the requirements), I thought other teachers might be able to save some of their time with a "head start".

I have not submitted this syllabus to The College Board yet because it is not due as yet. However, you may use this syllabus as closely to my original as you like. In the past, The College Board didn't mind if syllabi were redundant.

After your purchase, if you want a copy you can edit, email me privately and I'll send.

Thank you.
