    Description

Resource 1 - 20 Spanish Bargaining Role Play Cards with Clothing Vocabulary

Get your students up, moving, having fun, AND speaking Spanish with these Spanish bargaining role-play cards. Each set of cards (10 sets total) consists of a buyer role and a seller role and is set in a specific Spanish-speaking country. Exchange rates are listed for foreign currencies, and this really gets your students thinking!

Instructions are included for the teacher to set up two different types of activities for your class. The cards are great for warm ups too. Each buyer card has a list of what they are looking for and how much money they have to spend. Each seller card has a list of their items and how much they paid for the product. The sellers are trying to make the most money they can and the buyers can’t spend more than they have. My students really love bartering with each other and get very into it!

Clothing vocabulary is used in the role-play cards and a full English / Spanish clothing vocabulary list and Quizlet link is included in this download as well!

Resource 2 - How to Bargain in Spanish Step-by-Step Buying & Selling Reference Sheets

These step-by-step reference sheets give your students the tools and support they need to act out real-life bargaining scenes in Spanish. My students have so much fun with these phrases and real-life tips for both buying and selling items in an open-air market atmosphere.

The first two pages walk your students through how to bargain in Spanish with these 5 easy steps -

    1. Greet the salesperson

    2. Ask the price or say what you are looking for

    3. Never take the first price

    4. Ask for a lower price or propose a lower price

    5. Keep negotiating and use some of the provided strategies

Each step is accompanied by phrases in Spanish that are also translated to English. Vocabulary for when you are ready to make a purchase and questions about size, credit cards, and asking for change are also included in the portion.

The last two pages will walk your students through how to bargain in Spanish as a salesperson with these 7 steps -

    1. Greet the customer

    2. Ask how you can help

    3. Talk up your product

    4. Take your time telling the price and always start high

    5. Counter their offer and keep describing your product

    6. Offer them something special

    7. When they are ready, ask them how they would like to pay and thank them
