How do you play Knockout?

•Divide your class into 2 single-file lines

•Display the first slide

•The player at the front of his/her line faces off against the player from the other team: the first player to answer his/her question correctly wins and returns to the end of the line.

•The player who does not win goes to sit on the team "bench" to cheer on the team!

BUT WAIT. That's not all.

If a player faces these slides, the following could happen:

• Double Free Pass: Both players automatically get to stay in the game!
• Double Knockout: Both players are automatically out!
• Knockout/Free Pass: One player goes, one stays!
• Pick a Pal: Choose a player from the bench to return to the game!
• Knockout/Pick a Pal: One player goes, the other chooses a friend to return!

The team with players standing at the end of the game wins. In our classroom, we like to keep teams the same for a week or two and keep a running score as a Knockout "tournament." 

About This Pack:

• This game comes in Google Slides and PowerPoint formats.
• There are 6 games total. Each game has 35-40 slides.
• The slide content is not editable, but you can change the order of slides.

FUN WAYS TO USE THIS

Tournament style: The team with players standing at the end of the game wins. In our classroom, we like to keep teams the same for a week or two and keep a running score as a Knockout™ "tournament." Check out these free Knockout scoreboards HERE.

Daily Math Warm-Up: Use this for spiral review for practicing adding 10 or 100 all year long or pull this out to focus during new material or test prep

Fun Friday activity: This makes an effective classroom incentive!

Indoor recess: Let students facilitate this 10 more 10 less 100 more 100 less math game and watch the fun unfold

Test Prep: Ease anxiety before the big test with a fun review session

Brain Break: Get kids up and moving and talking in between focused work times throughout the day

Dismissal activity: Send your students off on a high note (just don't let them have too much fun they miss the bus!
