This 1st grade writing prompts and portfolio activity makes a perfect first grade writing center. Each week, students respond to a pre-determined writing prompt including narrative writing and story writing. It is great writing practice for students!

It is also a great way to keep a running check on their writing progress.... Great for assessment! Just three-hole punch the edge and stick in a binder for each student!

Each writing page contains the writing prompt question and a writing checklist for my students to use to check their writing for punctuation, capital letters, details, etc.
