Description

Included:
Student tracking sheets for each standard
Proficiency Scales for teachers based on Marzano’s Scale
Assessment for each Proficiency Scale

Directions:
Review the Proficiency Scale to know exactly what students need to know to meet the grade level standard and what they need to do to go beyond it. A 3 on the proficiency scale is Proficient, a 4 is Highly Proficient, a 2 is Partially Proficient, and 1 Not Proficient. After reviewing the scale, teach your lessons. At the conclusion of the unit, give students the assessment. Each assessment has Level 2, 3, and 4 questions. Score students accordingly. Students will track their score on the tracking sheet. They will date the top and color a square based on their level: 1-Red, 2-Yellow, 3-Green, 4-Blue. Student tracking sheets are written so they can identify exactly what they can do and what they are working toward. Use the Teacher Proficiency Scale to easily jot down student’s names in each section so you can easily create small groups for a reteach. Students should be given an opportunity to retake the test to fix mistakes after small group intervention. After a retake, have them date the top and color again. They should be moving up from red to blue. If a student is stuck on one color, more in depth interventions may be needed. My intention was to keep the student tracking sheets and assessments in a data binder for each student to use at conference time to show their parents what they are learning and where they are in their own personal learning path.

Order three objects by length; compare the lengths of two objects indirectly by using a third object.
Express the length of an object as a whole number of length units, by laying multiple copies of a shorter object (the length unit) end to end; understand that the length measurement of an object is the number of same-size length units that span it with no gaps or overlaps.
Tell and write time in hours and half-hours using analog and digital clocks.
Organize, represent, and interpret data with up to three categories; ask and answer questions about the total number of data points, how many in each category, and how many more or less are in one category than in another.
Count to 120, starting at any number less than 120. In this range, read and write numerals and represent a number of objects with a written numeral.
