Description

The following ten-page study guide film packet is used to accompany the Sidney Lumet-directed 1957 courtroom drama film, 12 Angry Men. It can be used in an English or film studies classroom. The first page contains a list of cast and crew and a background and introduction on the film. The second page is a page that allows viewers to jot and take down their own notes. The third page features all of the characters and asks viewers to write how each character is indirectly characterized and to identify what methods of persuasion each juror uses. Pages four, five, six, seven, and eight are comprehension questions to guide the viewer on the work's camera movement, cinematography, costume design, editing, plot, story, style, symbolism, and themes. The ninth and tenth pages contain discussion questions on the work's acting, characterization, ideologies, idiosyncrasies, sociocultural context, themes, and title.
