10 lessons on heat causes change & states of matter - hands on
What educators are saying
Description
This set contains 10 Lessons. Enough hands on experiments to keep little ones busy for 2 weeks. When I was making the lessons, I noticed how closely related the two were and decided to make it one set that would cover 2 weeks. Most of the ideas I found on Pinterest but I compiled them all in one place and in the 5 E model. There are several 18 photos of solids, liquids and gases for a class sort. Not all of the liquids are things your drink. (We tend to use so many of those that little ones think liquids are things your drink). There are a few lab sheets that you can add to a science journal. There is also a parent note asking them to send in the plastic.
Highlights:
melting ice, melting chocolate, melting and refreezing a plastic sleeve Popsicle, making Jello, melting crayons, making toast, making a root beer float, shrinking plastic pictures drawn on disposable number 5 or 6 recycled plastic. (They will decorate it at school, watch a video on you tube of what happens but will shrink it at home in their oven).
Students are sure to love all the hands on activities!!
Materials: toaster, foil, candy canes or suckers, Jello mix, bowl, cups, paper towels, party balloons, clear small trash bags, old crayons, root beer, ice cream, bread, shrinking disposable plastic containers plastic #5 or #6, ice, and sidewalk chalk. There may be a few more items but that is the bulk of it.
