10 French Dialogues + Questions Pastimes JOUER À FAIRE DE for Reading + Speaking

Here are 10 French one-page Dialogues (skits) + Post-reading using JOUER À and FAIRE DE for Reading and Speaking Practice on the PASTIMES / SPORTS / ACTIVITIES theme geared towards a Late Beginner / Early Intermediate level for students learning French as an additional language in Core French, French Immersion, or Adult Education French programs. An excellent literacy tool for comprehensible input, as well as for distance learning.

Verb tenses used are:

• présent
• verbe + infinitif

Each dialogue is for 2 participants. Check out the Preview for the title of each dialogue. Students can take on different roles in the various scenarios on topics such as:

• les sports d'hiver (le hockey, le surf des neiges)
• les sports d'été (la planche à roulettes, le soccer, le ski nautique, la natation, l'escalade)
• les jeux vidéo
• la danse
• les arts martiaux

A set of POST-READING QUESTIONS is provided for each dialogue in the form of a six-box table. These post-reading questions include comprehension questions asked using French Question Words (mots interrogatifs), finding adjectives, negatives, school subjects, food items, clothing items, and mots amis.

Uses for these 10 DIALOGUES in the French classroom:

• As oral production (pronunciation) activities where students rehearse and act out the scenario as mini skits
• As reading exercises done as a whole-class, small group or individual activity using the post-reading questions
• As a precursor to writing tasks where the dialogues serve as models for students to create their own skits to present
• As one element in a literacy center
• As part of a NO PREP supply (substitute) teacher package
