DNA and Heredity - Family Traits
I developed this activity as a supplement to our unit on DNA and heredity. This smartboard activity matches a missing child to his/her parents. Students will use what they know about hair color, skin color, etc. to determine who they think the child belongs to. Some choices are very obvious, others a little tricky! There can be more than one correct answer on some slides. However, at the end is a "family gathering" so students can check to see if they matched the correct children to parents

Introductory to Plants
The is a SMART board presentation I made to introduce plants to my first graders. It covers parts of the plant, needs of the plant, 2 poems about seeds, a video about seeds that is about 2 minutes long, a link to a youtube video where they can see seeds grow in fast forward to see the roots and such. It also covers the sequence that a seed grows into a plant. It is almost completely interactive.
