3 week - Human Innovation Bracket activity (presentation and group discussion)
Students will be assigned a human innovation that they will research and prepare a short persuasive presentation where they are to attempt to convince their peers that the Human Innovation they were assigned deserves the title of greatest human innovation of all time. As the class moves into the bracket they must work with others to expand their research and improve both their arguments and presentation methods.The final round shifts to a face-off between two halves of the class where each team

Students will be assigned a human innovation that they will research and prepare a short persuasive essay that defends their assigned topic as the greatest Human Innovation of all time. Groups of students will then use those essays to determine which human innovation, based on the persuasive writing of their classmates, deserves the title of Greatest Human Innovation.There is explicit guidelines for each step with extra value placed on the importance of honest and meaningful peer review.

They will then work in sub-groups to research and prepare to defend their innovation choice while also prepare questions that will expose the weaknesses of the other groups' selection.After a impassioned series of questions and responses the students will decide on the greatest human innovation of all time.
