RAP poster/bookmark: mnemonic for short answer, open-ended, and citing evidence
RAP is an easy mnemonic device that helps students answer short-answer and open-ended questions correctly and quickly.
I originally came up with the mnemonic device after realizing that the popular "RACE" was confusing my students! I wanted to simplify the strategy, as well as add visual clues to add to their success.
I've used this with my middle school pull-out reading classes with great success. I hope it helps you and your students as well!

Need a scaffolded way to help your students assign character traits to characters in their book? This resource allows you to guide your students to certain positive, negative, or neutral traits. Under each trait are higher-level vocabulary words that have the same denotative meaning, but a different connotative meaning than the word listed. This helps students narrow down their thoughts about characters while building their vocabulary.
