The Lesson Pony
One of the best ways to teach physics and how it relates to the real world is through sports. Every sport utilizes multiple physics principles. For this project, students will choose a sport and study the physics principles involved. This lesson will motivate your High School students to apply their physics knowledge through their favorite sport. I have used this lesson for the students to add to it as they learn during the school year.Your students will have the choice of presenting their inform

Students sit in class regularly wondering where is this ever going to help me in life. Think about congruent triangle theorems, SAS, ASA, SSS, and AAS. How do you make learning those theorem relevant to teenagers? In engineering congruent triangles create support. This brief passage describes how not having congruent triangles could be hazardous to your health. Students will also learn the proper way to determine congruence in two triangles.

Sine, Cosine & Tangent Lesson Plan

This is a complete lesson plan where students will find the length of a side of a right triangle using the trigonometric ratios. This lesson follows my lesson plan "Introduction to Trigonometry" which is also posted in my store. If you prefer to teach the three ratios separately, I have lessons on each of the three sine, cosine and tangent ratios posted in my store. I also have a lesson on the inverse ratios posted as well. This lesson includes an opening activity, minilesson with guided step

The Tangent Ratio Lesson Plan

This is a complete lesson plan introducing the tangent ratio and guiding students to find the length of a side of a right triangle using tangent. The inverse tangent ratio is also covered. This lesson follows my lesson plans: "Introduction to Trigonometry," "The Sine Ratio Lesson Plan," and "The Cosine Ratio Lesson Plan," which are also posted in my store. If you prefer to teach the three ratios in one lesson, I have the lesson "Sine, Cosine & Tangent" posted at: http://www.teacherspayteac

Applying Trigonometry to Real-World Problems (Angles of Elevation & Depression)

This is a complete lesson plan where students will find lengths and distances in real-world situations using the trigonometric ratios. The Angle of Elevation and Angle of Depression are introduced here. This lesson follows my lesson plan "Sine-Cosine-Tangent" which is also posted in my store. This lesson plan includes an opening activity, minilesson with guided steps through the process, examples, class activities and a worksheet for homework. Answer keys included. If your child is struggling with math, then this book is for you; the short book covers the topic and also contains 30 practice problems to work with. This subject comes from the book “Fourth Grade Math (For Home School or Extra Practice)”; it more thoroughly covers more fifth grade topics to help your child get a better understanding of fourth grade math. If you purchased that book, or plan to purchase that book, do not purchase this, as the problems are the same.

Interactive Unit Circle

This unit circle may be used as a demo on a Smartboard or may be used as a hard copy where the triangles are cut out and placed on the circle. Students can fill in the included table to learn the trig functions of special angles, the first step to understanding the trigonometric functions of any angle.

Ambiguous Case Investigation using Spaghetti

Students get to explore how, given an angle and two side lengths, two possible triangles might be created - the Ambiguous Case. This activity uses pasta to get students working with their hands (could substitute out straws or skewers for gluten allergies). This activity prepares students to recognize when an ambiguous case of the sine law is possible and to solve ambiguous case triangles by showing how the two possible triangles relate to one another.

The Cosine Ratio Lesson Plan

This is a complete lesson plan introducing the cosine ratio and guiding students to find the length of a side of a right triangle using cosine. The inverse cosine ratio is also covered. This lesson follows my lesson plans "Introduction to Trigonometry" and "Sine Lesson Plan" which are also posted in my TpT Store. I also have lesson plans on the sine and tangent ratios posted.
