In this “I Have, Who Has” game students will identify the difference between a fact and an opinion. Cut each box into cards and laminate.
Pass out all the cards to students. Keep one card for you to start with. You can read the “Who has” part on your card to get the game started. I transformed my classroom into a restaurant and created menu's for my scholars to complete at each table the rotated to. Research Paper in an Alternate Media
This year we wrote our research papers in a different form. We made a "dossier." Using Microsoft Publisher or a similar software, we wrote the same paper but it looked different. I found that by allowing them the use of graphics, design, illustration and color, I had better papers and a higher number of students turned in the paper.

Reading Street Sleuth Gr. 2 Units 1 & 2
These tri-folds were developed to be used with the second grade Reading Street Sleuth book. Each article in units 1 and 2 are included. They can be used for interactive notebooks or by themselves. KinderMetas (Editable w/ Publisher)
I created Kinder-Metas in my classroom as a way to help my students see and manage their personal goals. Although it has changed from when I first implemented in my classroom, it has definitely been a great addition in my classroom.
I display the Goal Cards in my classroom, and as I assess the students throughout the school year they students color in their stars based on the goals they have reached. At the end of the school year students take their goal cards home with their goals reached.
