This is a game that I use as a "starter" at the beginning of my math class, especially at the beginning of the school year. It is instantly engaging and tons of fun! There is no (or very little) prep time needed and provides a quick warm-up for the math class. You can stretch this into a math strategy lesson or keep it short and sweet! Casey Seasholtz has used this activity as a way to reinforce multiplication facts while the students enjoy the fun of competing and learning.

Students are having so much fun that they don't realize that they are learning how to count money. I, Casey Seasholtz, hope

If you get 24 correctly then you are awarded 3 points. Now since there are random numbers involved you may not be able to get exactly 24 so if you can get a 23 or 25 that is worth 2 points or if you can only get a 22 or 26 then you get 1 point. Play for a deter
