This is a geometry project for middle school students - 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. Students use containers - boxes and cans/cylinders to calculate surface areas and volumes. The containers can be brought from home or found other places. This can be used as a cooperative learning activity or as individual work. Standard, metric, or both measurements can be used for calculation purposes. Estimation techniques can taught and practiced. Extra work is included if needed. This can be a one day
