This is a direct instruction lesson that I previously taught utilizing my SMARTBoard. I split the Solving Systems by Substitution into 3 separate lessons. Lesson 1 (A4.3a) is obvious substitution problems (slope-intercept/slope-intercept or slope-intercept/standard form). Lesson 2 (A4.3b) has all standard form-like problems with one equation being obviously easier to convert to slope-intercept than another. Lesson 3 (A4.3c) has all standard form-like problems with no equation necessarily being e

PowerPoint to Use Equivalent Fraction Tables to Add

This set of Cornell notes takes the Equivalent Fraction Tables from my other PowerPoint and uses them to find equivalent fractions with common denominators in order to add. The idea of tables assists students that lack the number sense or memorization of facts needed to choose a common denominator. The tables/graphic organizers also emphasize the conversion of BOTH the numerator AND denominator (which can be mistakenly forgotten in these multi-step problems).
