Persuasive / Argument Writing now has a fun and authentic purpose! Students will 'apply' for a fictional scholarship to a dream high school. They will write a cover letter in which they convince a scholarship review committee that they are an exceptional student and the perfect candidate for their school. I have found great success with this writing unit for the past 6 years. Students get to write about what they know best: themselves! They are experts of their own content, which frees them up
