This mini-course or lesson uses Roald Dahl's short story "A Lamb to the Slaughter" to teach, analyze and assess student learning related to idioms and irony. Using guided note taking and student discussions, these resources created a great 3 to 4 day read / analysis with a 1 - 2 day quiz and related writing prompt for my middle school ELA classes.
