Creative Writing Reflections Bundle: Intro to Creative Writing
This bundle contains all three Intro to Creative Writing reflections. These are great to include at the beginning of the semester as you introduce students to "reading like a writer", the writing process/the importance of first drafts, and why descriptive writing matters. Give students time to process what they're learning and reflect on these lessons. Teacher directions are included for all three reflections, and each has its own editable Google Slides link!

Spin-doctoring, the purposeful twisting of words to manipulate nonfiction readers, can create dangerous propaganda for minds unaccustomed to critical analysis of word choices. Creative Writing Reflection: Why Descriptive Writing Matters, Brain Science
This reflection asks students to reflect on an article on the brain science behind descriptive writing. This reflection activity is the third of three in my Intro to Creative Writing unit. This activity works best after having introduced the idea of descriptive writing/showing not telling. Teacher directions are included with how I incorporate this activity into my class.
