Book Talk - Oral Language - Reading Comprehension With a book talk you can get the same information you would find in a traditional book report, just in a different way while still holding your students accountable for their independent reading or whole group reading. Having your students complete book talks helps them practice their oral speaking skills and allows other students in the class to hear about (and get excited about) other books.
