Transisiton Sentence Bridge-Narrative
I was having a great deal of difficulty teaching my kids how to use transitions to craft their writing. After giving a lot of thought., I came up with a way for them to practice using the transitions and help them learn revise/edit strategies for the STAAR test at the same time. They enjoyed doing this and I saw some lightbulbs go off after we did it a few times.

You can enter information from the topic you are currently working on into this Main Idea and Support Details Sort template. Students determine which statements are supporting details and which statement is the main idea.
This sort can be used as follow-up independent work to a whole group or small group lesson or as a literacy center.

Here is a word part graphic organizer I created to help students remember their word parts. It is editable and can be adapted for other classes. Students have to write the word part in the center. Next they must fill in each quadrant with the information asked for.
