Many students with pragmatic and language disabilities have difficulty understanding when their thoughts/ideas are ones that should be said aloud or whether they should be kept in their heads. This Notebook activity teaches the idea of “speech bubble” vs. “thought bubble” and reviews when it is okay or not okay to share something. Specifically, it teaches the students to think about whether this is the right time, the right place, the right audience, or whether it will hurt someone’s feelings. T

Wonderful lesson for students who have a hard time telling the truth. This lesson will help students to learn about the character trait of honesty. It might seem that lying or cheating helps people out or makes them feel good sometimes, but in the long run, it usually doesn’t. It will help students to understand the importance of telling the truth. Lesson uses the book “Lying up a Storm” by Julia Cook to teach the character trait of honesty. YouTube read aloud linked.

This lesson will help students to learn about the character trait of kindness and caring. To develop and exhibit such kindness in school, classroom, home and other places. Lesson uses the book” What does it Mean to be Kind?” by Rana DiOrio to teach character traits of kindness and caring.
The learning activity and read aloud book are intended to be used in conjunction with the PowerPoint and are linked. A project of giving idea is connected to this lesson.
