I use this activity to help justify creating Valentine holders with my students. Each student brings in an empty shoe or tissue box. We use this activity to find the area, perimeter, and volume of the box. This sheet is great for introducing the concept of volume, while reviewing area and perimeter formulas. It also provides space for students to show their work. After a student gives me their sheet and I check it they are allowed to go to a bin of supplies and use them to decorate their box.
