Resume Writing Presentation and Samples
Included is a Prezi presentation containing 22 slides for discussion and resume writing headings. I have also included 6 sample resumes that can be reviewed, displayed, or printed for students to base their personal resumes off.
Finally, I have included a template for a cover letter. I tend to use this for my "high flyer" students who tend to finish early. Either that, or it can be used as an extra credit writing opportunity.

Sir Walter Raleigh: Nonfiction Selection
Even though Sir Walter Raleigh was a famous Elizabethan era poet and royal court favorite, he also had a North Carolina connection. Cheryl Gourley has created a nonfiction reading selection on the life of Raleigh written at an intermediate reading level. True/false and timeline questions along with reading response questions accompany the selection. An answer key is provided. Graded Practice Card Template
Give students (or a group of students) a problem to work out with a whiteboard or marker. Stamp their "graded practice card" after their work is checked (i.e. red stamp = needs word; blue stamp = great job) to track their progress weekly. Print 2 copies to make it 2-sided, so students can use the same card for 2-weeks, with up to 5 practice problems per day. Best results if printed on card stock paper. There are 4 cards on one sheet to save paper. Perfect for interactive notebooks.
