Rules of Usage: The Articles A, An, and The
Although the Arizona state standards do not directly address this skill, many students, especially ELLs, have difficulty differentiating which article to use in which situation. This is meant to be a stand alone lesson to touch upon the rules of usage, and provide a bit of independent practice. I have attached a practice page for the students to complete under the attachments tab.

Second Industrialization in America
This is a smartnotebook file that contains 16 slides. It contains terms necessary to understand the topic of industrialization. It also contains several links to video clips associated with famous american inventors (Thomas Edison, Alexander Graham Bell, Eli Whitney). My 8th grade students loved learning about the industrial revolution via these short video clips.
