Electronic Pocket Chart
This is simply an electronic version of your traditional pocket chart for your smartboard. Page 1 is all 26 letters of the alphabet with vowels in red and consonants in black. Rhyme Dectection Part 1
This is part 1 of a 4 part series of quick 5 - 10 minute Smartboard activities to help students identify words that rhyme. Students are given two pictures and select a yes or no button to tell whether the words rhyme. If they are correct they are given a new question. This SMART Board interactive game will help young children distinguish foods from drinks. Students drag the food or drink into the correct category for the picture of the food or drink to disappear. What Looks Right? -ite and -ight spelling patterns
The "What Looks Right" activity helps students become more familiar with rhyming spelling patterns, such as -ite/-ight, -oad/-ode, -aim/-ame, etc. Students use their visual checking systems to decide which word looks like it is spelled correctly. Words can be moved into categories. Spelling is checked by pressing the check mark icon in the bottom right corner before moving onto the next word.

Same or Different? September
To promote English language proficiency and higher order thinking, I created a short daily activity in which students name 2 items and collaborate with partner to discuss how the objects are the same or are different. The file is for the SMARTBoard and requires Notebook software to be used.
I use the activity in a think-pair-share structure. The kids are interested and blow me away with their thinking sometimes! Check back for the proceeding months soon!
